Introduction
Selecting the right cutting system is just as important as choosing the roll forming machine itself. A well-designed cutting solution directly influences production efficiency, profile accuracy, material utilization, equipment stability, and long-term operating costs.
Modern CZ Purlin Roll Forming Machines are available with several cutting technologies, including Miter Cutting System, Flying Cut System, Pre-Cut System, and Post-Cut System. Each solution is engineered for different production requirements, profile designs, steel thicknesses, and project applications.
Whether you are manufacturing C purlins, Z purlins, or interchangeable CZ profiles for industrial buildings, warehouses, steel structures, or solar mounting systems, selecting the appropriate cutting technology helps maximize productivity while ensuring excellent product quality.
Miter Cutting System
The Miter Cutting System is specially designed for producing C and Z purlins with angled ends. It is widely applied in steel buildings, prefabricated structures, industrial workshops, warehouses, and projects requiring precise angular connections.
Unlike straight cutting systems, the Miter Cut solution produces different cutting angles by changing the cutting die according to the required angle and profile specification. Once the corresponding die is installed, the system delivers stable cutting performance, smooth cut surfaces, and excellent dimensional consistency.
This cutting solution minimizes secondary welding and machining, significantly improving installation efficiency for structural steel projects.
Flying Cut System (Non-stop Cutting)
The Flying Cut System, also known as the Servo Flying Cut System, performs continuous cutting without stopping the roll forming line. Using servo synchronization technology, the cutting unit travels together with the moving profile, allowing high-speed production while maintaining excellent cutting accuracy.
Because the cutting unit must synchronize with the profile during each cutting cycle, a small amount of material scrap is generated. Although the material utilization rate is slightly lower than Pre-Cut and Post-Cut systems, Flying Cut remains one of the most efficient solutions for automatic production lines.
Today, the Flying Cut System is widely used in Automatic CZ Purlin Roll Forming Machines where productivity and automation are top priorities.
Pre-Cut System
The Pre-Cut System cuts the steel strip before it enters the roll forming section. This configuration features a compact structure, easy maintenance, and lower equipment investment.
Since cutting is completed before roll forming, tool replacement is generally unnecessary when changing different profile sizes, making this solution suitable for flexible production.
Post-Cut System
The Post-Cut System performs cutting after the profile has been completely formed. This ensures higher dimensional accuracy, profile consistency, and cutting quality.
It is especially suitable for thick materials, heavy-duty steel sections, and applications requiring precise dimensions.
ZTREM Machinery provides customized cutting solutions based on profile design, material thickness, production capacity, and customer requirements.
